Yeezy for President 2020

During last night’s VMAs, when Kanye West won the Video Vanguard Award he stated that he will be running for president in 2020. This was expressed during a 12 minute speech rectifying all the decisions he has made in the past, how the media and society sees him, and how society needs to “Listen to the kids, bro!”   images

Many people on social media took all the little statements and anecdotes from Yeezy’s acceptance speech and made little jokes, while missing the messages. Kanye was stressing how the Millennials aren’t afraid to be themselves. He seems to be an advocate for expressing “art”, and not glorifying the need of competition when artists spend their time perfecting their crafts.  It’s about being brave in a world full of cowards, and as you can see, Kanye is “NO COWARD”!  486014000_Kanye-West-467

I really enjoyed Kanye’s liberating speech. He said a lot of truthful things that people should listen to with ears unguarded, with open-hearts, and with open-minds. Protecting the love and appreciation of people being who they are without others downplaying who they really are, is dope. Expressing yourself through genuine art, not duplicating, but admiring, is dope. Doing anything in life without being demonized by societal norms is dope. I’m going to leave the readers with this quote from Yeezy’s speech last night, “I don’t know what I’m finna lose after this. It don’t matter though because it ain’t about me, it’s about new ideas bro people with ideas people who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment I have decided in 2020 to run for president.“
